ZP Dermil cutaneous suspension is indicated for the treatment and control of dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp.
Zinc pyrithione, the active substance in ZP Dermil cutaneous suspension, may act through its antimitotic action, which causes a reduction in epidermal cells. It also has bacteriostatic and antifungal activity, and it is not yet known whether this action contributes to its antiseborrheic effects. Zinc pyrithione is a substance that, from a toxicological point of view, can be used by humans, not revealing problems that require special measures or that prevent its use as a therapeutic agent.
