In the creator's imagination, Cabotine is the daughter of Cabochard, a perfume from the younger generation that maintains Cabochard's elegance and distinction. It was created with love and enthusiasm, on a very limited budget, and became a classic of the 90s.
It was created by Jean-Claude Delville of IFF, and he hoped to make a light yet long-lasting perfume, which was a difficult task. A transparent fragrance with notes of green floral and sharp aldehyde. The perfume is very light, easy to wear and, at the same time, tenacious. It achieved success despite very limited advertising and promotional support.
The composition is created around the ginger lily, also known as the butterfly lily, a large white flower with petals from the Himalayas. Grown in the wild climate of high mountains, this plant blooms for only a few weeks in spring, and each flower lives for only a few hours, making it difficult, almost impossible, to extract the oil. A pioneering researcher at IFF, Dr. Braja Mookherjee, found a way to analyze the oil's structure using the flower of life technique and copy the ginger lily fragrance, which allowed for industrial production. Cabotina is the first perfume to contain ginger lily in its composition. The top notes contain blackcurrant buds, pear, plum, and coriander. The heart is composed of rose, spikenard, tuberose, ylang-ylang, ginger lily, hyacinth, heliotrope, freesia, violet, and diaphragm. The base notes are cedarwood, vanilla, tonka bean, cybet, musk, and amber. The perfume was created in 1990. The bottle, whose cap is shaped like a flower, was designed by Thierry Lecoule.
