Buscopan is a medication indicated for the relief of abdominal pain or discomfort associated with transient and moderate spasms of the gastrointestinal tract. Buscopan belongs to a group of medications classified as antispasmodics. The active substance in Buscopan, butylscopolamine, exerts a spasmolytic action on the smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal tract, that is, it relaxes the gastrointestinal muscle when it is contracted in a non-physiological way (spasm), causing relief of abdominal pain. If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 3 days, you need to consult a doctor.
